This is a limited use demo frame and/or floor model that has been built, and test ridden. IT IS NOT NEW, and may have minor blemishes, but is in excellent (almost new) condition. The full manufacturer's warranty is included.
A couple of differences from the picture:
It does not have the Moots painted fork, but has the unpainted carbon version,
It has an FSA 25mm setback K-Force Lite carbon seatpost,
And it has a Fizik stem.
Since 1981, Moots frames have been handcrafted in Steamboat Springs, Colorado by a talented group of dedicated riders and master welders who understand what a bike should do and how it should ride. All that experience culminates in their Vamoots CR Frameset. It boasts aerospace-grade 3/2.5 titanium, a svelte carbon fork, and dialed geometry for a telepathic feel and dreamy ride. The CR accelerates, corners, and climbs with aplomb. Even more, the titanium tubes soak up rough roads so you enjoy luxurious comfort, too. The CR's brilliant ride will motivate you while its impeccable craftsmanship, which has made the Moots name legendary, will inspire you.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to test ride the Moots Vamoots CR road bike courtesy of Winter Park Cycles. My regular bike is a full carbon, Scott Addict R2. Over the past few years, as my age keeps ticking up, I've been keen to find a ride that isn't as harsh as my Scott. I dearly love this bike, and I've put well over 25,000 miles on it, but my aching body kept telling me in subtle ways it was time for a change.
My first impression rolling out of my driveway was "silky smooth." I literally laughed at the difference, noticeable right from the start. Over the next 10 days, I put in 200+ miles of test riding. The titanium frame absorbs so much more road "chatter." I would climb off the bike at the end of a long ride feeling, well, so much less like I had just completed a long ride. In comparison to my Scott, the Moots is only a couple of pounds heavier. It was responsive and snappy when it needed to be, and handled and climbed very well too.
I was originally leaning towards the Foundry Chilkoot, but after doing some research online, I really like the fact that all the Moots frames are handmade in Colorado. That was the clincher for me. That, and the incredible magic carpet ride feel of the Moots has led me to take the leap and place the order from WPC. I'm really looking forward to many thousands of buttery smooth riding miles down the road.
