I took delivery of my New Factor 02 Disc in Burnt Orange on 6/20/19. Since then I have ridden about 67 hours on it and done approximately 56,000’ of climbing. Plenty of time and elevation change to make sure this bike is as good as advertised. I went with the "rolling chassis" build that includes Black Inc Bar/stem combo, Black Inc seat post, Ceramic Speed headset bearings and ceramic speed bottom bracket. I added a set of Black Inc Fifty Wheels with Corsa 28s, and a mixed DA/Ultegra DI2 Disc group set.
They advertise this bike as a racing/climbing machine. That, it is! My first thoughts were how solid the front end feels. The handling of the 02 on the switchback descents of the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC is flawless. In the saddle, I feel right at home especially on the ascents. The ride is smooth, but balanced, so it’s not going to be mistaken for comfort bike. It is comfortable, though; I didn’t feel like a truck hit me after a 98 mile Gran Fondo with 8800’ of climbing. Out of the saddle, its stiff and responsive. I find myself wanting to stand and do short sprints just for the hell of it.
Most importantly the 02 looks amazing. The color and quality of the paint job is brilliant. The 02 will definitely stand out at the local group ride or Gran Fondo among all of the Matte Black Aero bikes.
In summary, I love this bike. If you’re looking for a lightweight, high performance bike that stands out in the crowd, the 02 is for you.
